Pizza Night!

January 21 last year we randomly invited people to come to our house for homemade pizza. No one came that first night but we decided to keep doing it and over the past 12 months people have been coming pretty regularly. Sometimes we only had a few people and sometimes we had a crowd. Back in November we stopped for the Christmas season because we girls were all working, and the days were longer than any other time of the year. After New Years we had to decided if we would start it up again, change it, or just not do it at all. It was finally decided that whether we keep doing it or not, we would do it January 22nd for an anniversary pizza night. People started saying they would be there and we watched with growing anticipation as the number grew larger and larger. The last people to tell us they were coming called about 15-20 minutes before 6:00 Friday night!! We had the biggest crowd ever last week! Mom figured out that there were 46 people there! We made 16 pizzas and a LOT of cookies that day!!!
After supper some of the guys played chess, we had our singing time and then Daniel and Benjamin F, Daniel, a bunch of the younger kids and I headed out play Capture the Flag. Forget about the cold and dark! We played 4 games of Capture the Flag, I think. The first 3 with the same teams, chosen by team captains; the last with the "big kids" against the "little kids." Talk about unfair numbers! My team had the grand total of... 4 players, while the other team had about 10!!! It was fun, all the same. :) But after that game the Daniels, Benjamin, and I decided to go inside at least for a little bit and ended up getting stuck when we found out that some of the other folks were playing Spoons!! The last of the guests left sometime between 11:00 and 11:30, later than usual, but we all had a grand time! Thanks for helping us celebrate Friday Night Pizza's Anniversary!!!!

How do you like the vanishing spoons? :D

Wow! somebody that actually knows how to play spoons! My personal favorite! I was raised in a pastor's family and this is what we did at our home as well. taffy pulls, taco parties....but we always played spoons and Rook.

This was a walk down memory lane:)
