This morning...

Ben entered the living room this morning to see Dad sitting on the couch in his white button-up shirt and khaki shorts. "It's Blues Greens day," Ben comments before running from the room. "It is?" Dad immediately gets up and goes back to his room where I heard him say "I forgot that it's Blues Greens day!" Next time I saw him he was wearing a blue and green shirt instead of the white one. :) I love it when everyone in a family joins in a fun holiday started by the younger members of the family.
So now, I suppose, you're wondering what on earth is Blues Greens Day? :)
6 years ago Daniel and Luke (then about 4 and 6) woke up and one wore blue - ALL blue: blue shirt, shorts, hat, and flip-flops - and the other wore all green. Thus was started Blues Greens Day. Every year since we've all worn blue and/or green on September 5 (or someday around there; sometimes we mixed up the days!) and eaten blue and green food. One year (the Blues Greens day after they were married) Robert and Crystal arrived with........ guess what!

Can't see well enough? Here's another:

Still need another picure?

See? Yep, that's right..... GREEN HAIR! :) Actually, they got some "hair stuff" for us to use. Great fun :)

So, that explained......

Happy Blues Greens Day folks. :)

Happy Blue's Green's day to you too! :-) I'm wearing blue today so I think I'll forgo the green hair. :-p
I don't think I could pull it off as well as Crystal & Robert did. ;-)

Ah, yes, fun memories... I need to find some more green hair-gel... ;)

I'm wearing light-blue PJ pants today 'cuz I'm sick. Does that still count?

The kids' blue and green things are in the wash. We're not very "familyotic" today (like patriotic, only giving honor to our family holiday instead of a patriot holiday ;)). I don't even have any food coloring to fix blue and green food for supper!!! What are you guys have? Green mac-n-cheese?

Carol, lol! Yeah, didn't you know that green hair is TOTALLY the style now? :)
Katie, ah why not get green hair? It might be cute!
Tara, YAY! Go blue and green! :P
Crystal, I guess the blue pants will do, but HOW COULD YOU NOT KEEP OUT BLUE OR GREEN FOR THE KIDS??? :D Oh well, Abbie wasn't planning on wearing blue and green today, she planned on wearing denim and pink: doesn't count. :-/ I think we're having some kind of green and white pasta "stuff" and some blue muffins. I decided not to color the eggs this morning so they just had green salsa and parsley in them for the green -- they were good anyway. :)
