Of Work, Fun and Life

What have I been up to? That's what people ask me fairly frequently. What do I have to tell them? Mostly work. Somehow that's what it's become: I work and when I come home I often don't feel like sitting down and finishing any of the other projects I've had waiting for who knows how long. But then if I really do look at my life I know that it's more than just work. Yes, work plays a large part. After all, I do spend four days a week fixing other people's clothes whether just mending them or making them fit correctly or look more like the owner wants them to. But then comes my three-day weekend every week. What do I do with those days? Yes, I run errands but what about the rest? What about my own sewing projects that I do finish? The books I read, things I write, dreams I dream. What about my church Family? My growing niece. Choir.  My friends in other parts of the country. Yes, I work and it often seems bigger than anything else but when I really sit down and think about it, it's not my life. It's not the only thing I do.  Come to think of it, May has been a busy month. So now comes the question, what have I been doing lately?

The problem is I have a tendency to go through events without taking any pictures. For example the first weekend of the month the ladies at church had a craft day. Do I have any pictures? No! Someone somewhere probably does but I don't. And the next day was the Spring Planting Festival at Baker Creek in Mansfield. My friend Cathy and I decided to head over for the festival and since it's in Mansfield we decided, being Jane Austen lovers, to go in regency fashion (you know, Mansfield Park?). I do have one picture from that day: Mom snapped it of the two of us in our costumes before we left.

Last weekend I planned a hike/get-together for Saturday afternoon. It was hot and there were ticks in the woods but all in all I think it went pretty well. It was a blast!

It had been about a year since I'd seen these girls. It was great!
Along the way to our destination we got sidetracked on a little beach along the creek.

There's Ben, running ahead as usual :)

 Were they chasing him?
 The Super Mama
And that would be Lincoln :D

And of course a post about the last month wouldn't be complete without a fun picture of my sister-in-law and her adorable baby girl, here for a photo shoot with Angela. :)
