I heard part of a song (if it can even be called a song - it was rap) the other day. In this song it said that Jesus was a rebel.
What does rebel mean?

1. a person who refuses allegiance to, resists, or rises in arms against the government or ruler of his or her country.
Tell me, does that describe Jesus Christ? First of all, did He ever rebel against the Ruler of His Authority (God)? "And he went a little farther and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, 'O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.'" Matthew 26:39 Does that sound like something a rebel would say? No, it doesn't. Have any of you EVER read anything in the Bible that makes Jesus out as a rebel?
"Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:" 2 Corinthians 10:1 Here Paul mentions Christ's meekness and gentleness... is a rebel meek or gentle?
I don't know about you, but I've never read anything indicating that Jesus was a rebel. Yes, He was different but He never rebelled against His Authority - his Father God. In fact, the Bible says He was meek and lowly in spirit - NOT rebellious!

I completely agree with you, Hannah. That was well put. How many people today try to make Jesus out to fit their own life style instead of trying to make their life fit with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a sad fact that it is true for so many people. It is good to be reminded that we have a pattern to follow, Jesus Christ, the Beloved Son of His Father.

How sad that people are creating such songs (that really should not even be called songs) :(..... that blaspheme the very name of Christ. I was happy to see you stand up for the truth, dear sister in the Lord and defend truth with scripture.
